Tributes & Memories

Cito Giulini

A hard goodbye to my father, Musiu, El Doctor, yoda, no words, just a lot of love into your voyage to the next dimension. If there is a door man into heaven, Im sure Peggy has arranged VIP status for your arrival. I will miss you down here on this miserable little rock flying around the nuclear reactor we call the sun that hopefully we won't blow up. Nothing but love and respect.

So many memories! Where to start?
Music... always music... whether the Charlotte Symphony, or Philharmonic concerts, visiting musicians, or listening to recordings in their living room.
And all the meals we had together, talking over such an incredibly wide range of subjects.
Thanks for teaching us to pronounce "Gouda" properly!!
The memories will last forever!

Lorenzo was a wonderful person with a very big heart. I remember so many Sunday mornings when Cito would take him to the bakery, he would come by with Cito to bring me my favorite bread. He was a kind, generous, and loving man who will truly be missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to get to know him.

Rest well, Lorenzo. You have certainly earned it!!

What a great tribute. He clearly was man of his generation, that lived a life worth remembering. So many men of this time forget how to be strong, stand up for what is right, and love with a passion like no other. I never met your Father, but from this reading I can honestly say wow what a MAN.

What an unbelievable century long life story. Lorenzo was an awesome human being. He was a part of my earliest family memories. He was incredibly intelligent and interesting. I loved talking to him. Just talking about anything. He was interested in everything. He was also very funny with a great sense of humor. I'm going to miss him. The world needs more Lorenzos...

I remember Lorenzo as being an especially intriguing man. I never knew as much about him as you have told us now. I have fond memories of both of your parents being so open and loving as we lived with them in our early 20s. I loved the really good coffee, toast with marmite and cheese from the wheel. I also remember Blue, the Rottweiler who I was scared of. Mostly though I remember a house full of love and interest and your Dad was so on board in every way. I cherish these memories. I appreciate the total acceptance and celebration that we all lived. It was never awkward for me and I felt completely at home with your parents. My heart is with yours now as you grieve.

A wonderful remembrance. He fits the definition of a "renaissance man" to a tee. We celebrate Lorenzo's life and pray for his soul. Peggy would approve of that. Until you are with him again, Cito.

I have the fondest memories of Peggy and Lorenzo from Venezuela, Peggy was my mentor in the dog training world. My mom and I worked closely with Lorenzo on a guide for oil spill cleanup when he worked at Shell. I loved his calm demeanor and his attention to detail. I did not know anything about his young years, thanks for sharing. Both your parents were amazing humans! So sorry for your loss.

In the last few years of his life, Mr. Giulini would walk into my business as though he could see everything clearly in front of him. He couldn't, of course, but unless you knew him, you wouldn't know that. I would always try to get free so I could greet him. When he'd hear my voice, he would always ask, "Jennifer, is that you?" We would spend a few minutes visiting which always left me smiling. Grace comes to mind, kindness, a gentle spirit. He will be missed.
